Help new hires navigate their benefits with confidence using the VRS Member Guide. This handy booklet (available in bulk from VRS) explains benefit options and provides important action steps for new employees. Sharing it at orientation can help employees make informed decisions from day one.

The guide includes information on:

  • Retirement plan coverage and key benefits.
  • Optional Group Life Insurance and long-term care programs.
  • Voluntary contribution opportunities for Hybrid Retirement Plan members.
  • Other VRS benefits and services.

To support your onboarding efforts, encourage new hires to:

  • Register for myVRS. From their myVRS account, members can view their plan information and benefit coverage.
  • Name beneficiaries. Keeping beneficiary information current helps ensure benefits are paid according to the member’s wishes.
  • Explore VRS education and publications. Employees can access their member handbook, videos, webinars and other educational resources on the VRS website. For a series of short videos that explain the hybrid plan, direct employees to the Hybrid Plan Learning Channel.

Whether you’re onboarding one employee or many, the VRS Member Guide can save you time and help employees get off to a strong start.
