What do I need to know about enrolling and maintaining employees in myVRS Navigator?
New employees should be enrolled in myVRS Navigator on or before their scheduled start dates. It is especially important to enroll Hybrid Retirement Plan employees as soon as possible so you can begin withholding and remitting contributions to Voya Financial.
When enrolling a new employee, provide the employee’s demographic data, annual salary and employment start date. To enroll a teacher, faculty member or contractual support staff member, you will also need to enter the contract start date, contract period and the number of months the employee will be paid.
As employees move through their careers, they will have salary changes, employment changes and demographic changes that need to be maintained in their records.
- If you have a small, stable workforce with minimal turnover, VRS encourages enrolling and maintaining employees directly in myVRS Navigator.
- If you have a significant number of enrollments or monthly changes, you may want to submit records via batch, which requires certification. If you’re interested in becoming a batch submitter, email VRS at BatchSubmissionRequest@varetire.org.
