New Employees

Help employees understand their benefits and get accounts set up soon after hire.

• Hybrid Retirement Plan resources, such as the Hybrid Plan Learning Channel, help hybrid plan members understand plan features, contributions and benefit options.
• The VRS Member Guide provides an overview of retirement benefits, life insurance, disability coverage and other member programs.
• Member handbooks explain plan-specific provisions in greater detail.
• myVRS and applicable Defined Contribution Plan accounts allow employees to view benefit information, manage beneficiaries and access planning tools.

Mid-Career Employees

• Voya Financial education and coaching services are available to all VRS members and can help employees build retirement savings and financial strategies.
• Member News provides planning tips, benefit information and updates throughout the year.

Employees Nearing Retirement

• The Retirement Readiness Checklist helps employees keep track of deadlines and action items.
• Retirement Education Seminars provide an overview of retirement planning, benefit options and the application process.

Employees at Any Career Stage

The Member Benefit Profile is an excellent planning resource for employees at any career stage. Accessible from myVRS, employees can use their MBPs to identify potential savings gaps and steps they might take to close them.

Employees can also meet one-on-one with a VRS counselor to discuss their benefits, retirement options and planning questions. Counseling appointments are available virtually and in person at the VRS Counseling Center, located in Richmond at 6641 W. Broad St., Suite G106.
