Member Benefit Profiles will be available in members’ myVRS accounts in September. Based on information employers report to VRS as of June 30, these annual statements include account balances, retirement eligibility information and other benefit details.

The MBP serves as an annual retirement checkup, helping members see where they stand today and whether they’re on track for the future.

It estimates future retirement income from a monthly VRS pension, Social Security and other savings, and compares it to the commonly cited goal of replacing at least 80% of working income in retirement. The profile also includes suggestions members can consider if they need to strengthen their retirement readiness.

Encourage employees to review their MBP when it becomes available and consider the following:

  • Am I on track to meet my retirement goals?
  • Would working longer improve my retirement outlook?
  • Should I increase my retirement savings?
  • Has my target retirement date changed?

Members can use their MBP alongside planning tools available in myVRS, including the Benefit Estimator and Retirement Planner, to build a more complete picture of their future retirement income.

VRS will notify employers by email when 2026 MBPs are available.
