Retirees Can Receive Tax Forms Electronically
Retirees can now opt out of paper delivery and choose to receive their IRS Form 1099-R and W-2 electronically through myVRS.
This option offers a faster, more convenient way for members to access their tax documents. They can change their selection at any time. Those who don’t opt out will continue to receive paper copies by mail.
Tax documents will be available in retirees’ myVRS accounts by January 31, 2026, consistent with IRS guidelines.
myVRS Security Tip: Use Mobile Number and Personal Email
Employees can protect their online accounts by claiming them, using a personal email (not a work email), and keeping their contact information up to date. Members can review security best practices in the VRS Security Center.
