VRS will hold several in-person Retirement Education Seminars across Virginia in the coming months. These half-day sessions help employees better understand their retirement benefits and prepare for the years ahead.
Seminar topics may include:
- VRS benefits.
- Social Security.
- VRS defined contribution plans.
- Planning for retirement expenses.
- Estate planning basics.
- Health care options, including Medicare.
Who Should Attend?
These seminars are designed for members within five to 10 years of retirement. Sessions are free, and registration is now open (select Book an Appointment):
- Christiansburg – April 22 | Montgomery County Building | 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Hampton – May 6 | Peninsula Workforce Development Center | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Martinsville – May 19 | Patrick and Henry Community College | 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Fredericksburg – May 27 | Germanna Community College | 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Orange – July 29 | Orange County Public Safety Building | 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Interested in Hosting a Seminar?
Employers interested in hosting a future seminar should note:
- Facilities must accommodate at least 75 attendees.
- Sessions must be open to all VRS members.
- Smaller employers may consider partnering with a neighboring employer to host a session.
